UCSC Slug Nail Art

I have college orientation this weekend and the best way i know how to show my school spirit is by painting my nails with a UCSC theme. The school mascot is Sammy the Slug, a banana slug, so i incorporated him into my nails. On my left thumb is Sammy doing a yoga pose and on my right thumb is Sammy reading a book. I just used white nail polish and then navy, yellow, and black acrylic paint; all followed by a top coat.

Butterfly Nails

I've done butterfly nails twice before and each time i like the design more and more. I decided on five different nail colors, pink, yellow, orange, gray, and lavender as my base colors. I then used black acrylic paint to paint on the lines and black out an area near my cuticle. I then used a dotter tool and put some white dots on in various shapes. I finished with two top coats.

Abstract Tiger Print?

I wanted to switch my nails up early this week and I really like the way these turned out. I started with a pinky transparent nail color covering the tips of my nails, in a french tip pattern. I then layered on a light yellow near my cuticles and then a more orangey yellow in the middle of my nails. I then took black acyclic paint and painted on a whole bunch of lines and circles all over my nails. I finished with a topcoat to seal everything together.

Green Geometric Manicure

For this week's manicure i decided to do another geometric themed manicure. I always love how this style of nail comes out because there is no wrong way to paint them. On two of my nails I merely painted them a forest green and added rhinestones. On the remaining three nails i layered ontop of a baby blue nail color, yellow, light green, and dark green acrylic paint. I added some simple rhinestones to all of them to bring the entire look together.

Simple Blue Mani

This manicure is all about showing off this gorgeous blue shade of nail polish. I layered on a dark navy creme nail polish and then followed with a metallic sheer blue holographic nail polish. I painted on some light purple and pink flowers to accent the nail polish, not to overpower it. I ended with a topcoat to keep things shiny.

Pinks and Polka Dots

I don't usually paint my nails pink, but when I do I can't just choose one shade of pink. Instead, i choose ten different variations of pink. Ontop of the base colors I layered in series of three, three shades of purple dots. I sealed it all with a topcoat for another simple manicure.
