Cake and Cookie Nail Art

I was looking up "cute nails" for some inspiration and I happened to find a whole bunch of cake and cupcake manicures. I also have an abundance of cake and cookie mixes in my apartment so I went with a cake and cookie themed manicure for this week. And Yes, I did bake two dozen cookies and a batch of brownies after I finished up the manicure. It seemed only fitting.
Super simple nail art for this mani, just a base color on each nail and then the designs all came alive with some acrylic paint. Then some top coat to make everything shiny.

Fresh Fruit Nail Art

How better to enjoy your summer days then with some fresh fruit...on your nails! I've done fruity nails in the past but this by far is my best one! I painted on five different fruit for each of my hands with my handy acrylic paint. I included a watermelon, a strawberry, a kiwi, and apple, and a dragon fruit. Boy do these make me hungry!

Birthday Cupcake Nail Art

With my birthday coming up I wanted to do a manicure around it, but not in a "in your face" kind of way. The cupcake idea seemed to solve all of my problems. I painted on alternating vanilla and chocolate cupcakes and then added the corresponding amount of candles (19) to my nails. I'm really happy with the end result, and it didn't take as long as my more complicated manicures usually do.

Can you spot my matching cupcake socks?

Neon Fruit Drip Nails

The inspiration for my manicure was my newly and brightly dyed hair. It took awhile to come up with something that would accurately match my new neon locks but I finally came up with the idea of having five fruits on one hand (matching the colors to my hair) and then turning my other nails into the drip nail design that I so dearly love.

I ended up color matching fruit, so I drew a lemon, a peach, a watermelon, an orange, and a strawberry. The background color is just a sheer pink shimmer nail polish by Sinful Colors. I also added in some white stars to make the manicure a little bit more cutesy.

Candy Hearts, Valentine's Day Nails

Usually I end up doing the same type of manicure each year for Valentine's Day so this year I wanted to do something different. Each hand has five different colored candy hearts and the only difference is that the left hand is for people in a relationship and the right hand is for all of the single people. So for the left hand I have, "Heart Me," "Kiss me," "XOXO," "2 Cute," and "Be Mine?' On my right hand I have "NO," "Stop," "EW," "Bite Me," and "Cats Only." I'm really happy with the final product, how each hand looks the same from far away but once you start to read all of the messages you can clearly see a difference in tone between the two hands.

I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day, regardless if you are in a relationship.
