In downtown Santa Cruz this weekend there was a 90's/00's concert that I attended and got to do a manicure on one of my friend's nails with that theme. I started with a white background and added some glitter acrylic paint followed by a whole bunch of 90's motifs. The alien heads were a fan favorite for sure. Sealing everything together with a glossy topcoat completed this funky mani.

Designer Label Nail Art
One of my good friends loves all things designer so he asked me to paint his nails with ten of his favorite designer's logos. We ended up deciding to paint one hand white and the other one black with the script in the opposite color. One the white nail hand I painted on the Alexander McQueen logo, Fendi, Balmain, YSL, and Louboutin logo. For the black nail hand I painted Moschino, Chanel, Bally, Prada, and the Dior logo. Overall we were both really happy with how this manicure came out!
Guest feature of my hand since I still have on my Louboutin manicure.

Christian Louboutin Nail Art
I've done Christian Louboutin inspired nail before (like actually painting stilettos on my nails) so this time around I decided to do the ultimate Louboutin manicure. This trend has been on the internet for many years now and since my nails are adequately long enough I could do them successfully. That is, strictly speaking, painting the under part of my nails red (just like a classic Louboutin shoe).
I painted the top of all of my nails black and painted the under side of my nails first white and then red. Sealing everything with two coats of a glossy top coat, I now have a luxurious and simple manicure.

Mother's Day Nail Art
Since this coming Sunday is Mother's Day I thought I'd do a manicure inspired by it. I came up with this design based on the children's book "Are You My Mother?" I remembered reading it as a kid so i thought it would be interesting to do a design based on it. On my right thumb I painted the little lost baby bird sitting on top of a dog and on my right thumb I painted the baby bird's mother. The remaining nails on my left hand read "Are You My Mother" and the remaining nails on my right hand read "I Want My Mother," two lines from the book. Overall I'm really happy with how the white lettering cam out on the blue and lavender backgrounds!

Christmas Themed Nail Art
For my Christmas week nails I decided to do a mash-up manicure, doing five different designs instead of just one overall theme (which is what i did for the snowflake manicure previous). From my pinky towards my thumb I painted on presents, then a full glitter nail (each piece of glitter was individually placed! Yes it took a considerable amount of time), them some holly berries, a line of christmas lights, and them some adorable snowmen! I definitely feel like I have less space for designs, so I was surprised at how realistic I was able to keep this manicure. Overall I really like the end result of this christmas mani!!!
