Multi-Colored Water Marble Nail Art

I cut my nails down a little bit, so I wanted to do something "simple" with the design for this week. Water Marbling isn't per say 'simple' or 'easy,' but the end result has such a high payoff that I decided to do it this week. I started with a white base color of nail polish, and then by using four shades of cheap Wet'n'Wild polishes (yellow, magenta, orange, and teal) I began to mix them in a cup of water and in my fingers went. I was too lazy to tape up my cuticles this time around so I had a lot of excess nail polish on my actual fingers. Acetone took it all off no problem. I then added three little pieces of glitter near the center of my cuticles on each fingernail and sealed everything up with a top coat. 

Green Water Marble Nails

This week i returned to the much loved and hated technique of water marbling. I just have to find the right watery nail polish consistency in order to be able to correctly and easily water marble my nails. This time around I used a yellow, green, and blue to create this very sea foam type of look. After I dunked my nails into the water with the spiral design, I added some sparkle near my cuticles and one single yellow dot. (for the heck of it) These manicures are always a blast to do and usually create some really spectacular designs. 

No-Water Water Marble Nail Art

I did have to trim my nails a bit this week (sad face) since they were beginning to get in the way of things. Regardless, this week I wanted to try the No-Water water marble nail technique that I've been seeing a lot on Instagram. You basically paint your nails with a base color (I used a light grey) and then take 3 polishes and paint lines on your nails with the polishes. Before the polish dries you take a pointy object (I used a dotter tool) and then drag it horizontally through the polish to mix them together. You end up with a really cool textured design. I added two coats of top coat to seal the design all together. 

Sharpie Watercolor Nail Art

Rainbow Galaxy? Easter eggs? Tie-dye? Regardless, Just a touch of sharpie and rubbing alcohol to get the job done! And of course some glitter for a much needed sparkle. Starting with a white base color i carefully diluted many different sharpie colors onto my color palette and then painted them onto my nails. The rubbing alcohol that I used to dilute the sharpie helped the sharpie mixture dry fairly fast when applied to my nails. After the glitter was applied I sealed the deal with two top coats. I will definitely be exploring this method with more colors, so fun and easy!

Graduation Nails 2K15

In honor of my high school graduation this upcoming wednesday, I painted my nails accordingly. On my six accent nails and in six different languages i wrote "Good Luck" on them. I started with a pink base color and then layered on this bright royal blue using the water spotting method. This method involves dropping nail polish into a cup full of water and then spraying hair spray over it to create circles/spots in the nail polish, then you dip your fingers into the water and voila! I added four little rhinestones and finished with a top coat.
