Neon Gradient Manicure

Just a simple neon gradient kind of week.

I started off with a white base color and then sponged on a colorful gradient across all of my fingernails. I added on some white polka dots and finished everything off with a glossy top coats.

Monarch Butterfly Wing Nail Art

Another busy weekend called for a simple and easy manicure, i.e. back to the monarch butterfly manicure. I've done this manicure at least twice before in the past five years so I don't feel too bad about redoing them. The design is pretty simple, five solid nail polishes and them black and white acrylic paint on top. For my middle and ring fingers I did add some metallic power to them to shake things up, but otherwise just your standard butterfly mani.

Merrill College Nails Pt. 2

One of the other Orientation Leaders wanted her nails done as well, so I did another manicure including the Merrill Bird. Very simple, since I did not want someone else to sit around for two and half hours. (lol)

Abstract Smoke (?) Nail Art

Sadly I had to cut my nails down even shorter this week since I broke one of them. Anyways, for this week's design I wanted to use the sharpie and rubbing alcohol method again, but only use black sharpie. At first I tried to be specific with where I put the sharpie and rubbing alcohol mix but that looked too neat, so I just went wild. After I added all of the sharpie mix, I placed an orange dot and a yellow dot in line with each other above my cuticle to make the look cohesive. Then I added on two layers of top coat and called it a day.

Psychedelic 60's Manicure

I wanted to do a water marble manicure this week but I didn't have enough colors that were thin enough to be water marbled. Instead I took a bright neon pink polish and clear nail polish and water marbled them together. Starting out with a clean white base I water marbled pink and clear into a little cup and then dipped my white nails into the solution. I finished the manicure by drawing on darker pink triangles on each of my nails and dotting white dots inside the allotted area. I'm surprised with the result and really like them!

My drawing turned out to be a really good background for this manicure since it fit into the trip 60's vibe that I was going for.

Lavender Cut Out Nails

Didn't have a whole bunch of inspiration for this manicure so a simple see through art deco mani is usually my back up plan. I layered on a sheer pink base color and then painted a lavender nail polish on top, leaving some bits of my nail exposed. Then i added on glitter, lines, and dots to finish the look off. Still getting use to short nails, missing the long talons.
